CookUnity Vegan Vegetarian Options

My CookUnity Review

If you’ve been hearing some chatter about CookUnity – a service that allows you to enjoy chef-prepared meals in the comfort of your home – you’re not alone; it’s an enticing concept. So I’m here to break down my experience with the meal delivery program and offer a full CookUnity review, based upon my experience eating a week’s worth of their meals.

If you know me, you know that I’m a huge advocate for meal delivery programs, be them in meal kit, chef-prepared, or ready-made form, I’m a huge advocate for reducing the barrier to entry for people looking to eat more nutritious plant-based food. For anyone that’s super busy with work or family, aiming to dial-in their nutrition, or looking for more variety in their diet, I couldn’t recommend these services more; and there are a plethora of amazing companies on the market.

I had heard about CookUnity for a while and was excited to have the chance to try out their chef-prepared meals recently.* I actually hadn’t been aware that they offer vegan and vegetarian options, so I was super excited to learn that they did!

My CookUnity Review – One Week of Plant-Based Meals

I’m excited to share my full CookUnity review after receiving a week’s worth of vegan meals from their chefs – so let’s get into it.

I opted for the 6-meal option, and the timing was perfect as I had just returned from a week of travel, so I was super grateful to come home to a cooler fool of delicious, fresh, ready-to-eat food on my doorstep so I didn’t need to worry about going to the grocery store – my meals for the next handful of days were taken care of and I was thrilled to remove that from my mental load.

Since it was my first time trying them out, I wanted to opt for a lot of variety and try meals from several of their chefs. I really liked that, when you’re presented with meal options (and there are dozens of vegan meals to choose from every week) you can see other people’s reviews of the meals, so you could get a sense of how people liked each meal. You can also learn about the chefs preparing the food, which is a nice personal touch.

Alright, now for my official CookUnity review of the specific meals I received.

Creamy Rigatoni Vodka

CookUnity Review 2026

This one was my favorite! The vodka sauce was delicious, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and I loved the cashew parmesan on top. It was simple but very much hit the spot, and offered two large servings (all of the portion sizes for my meals were great and often yielded two meals for me).

Hearty Tofu Scramble

Does CookUnity Have Vegan Options

I was excited to write about this one in my CookUnity review because tofu scrambles can be hard to get right – they need the right amount of seasoning so it’s not bland, and enough moisture so that the scramble isn’t dry. This one passed both of those tests, and I absolutely loved that it was served with herby roasted potatoes and had a great mix of sautéed veggies in the scramble, so it made for a super balanced, high-protein breakfast.

Vegan Mushroom Enchilada

Vegan Enchilada Recipe

I am a huge enchilada gal, so there was zero chance I wasn’t choosing this as one of my meals. I was particularly excited when I saw that it had a green sauce, because that’s my absolute favorite. Overall the enchiladas were great, and had a nice flavor and mix of black beans, mushrooms, quinoa, and vegan cheese. They could have used a bit more enchilada sauce IMO, but the side of pico de gallo helped fill that gap.

Climate-Friendly Harvest Salad

CookUnity for Vegans

This was the first meal I had when I returned home from my travels – I chose it because I was really needing a lot of greens after a few days of indulgence, and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. The arugula was fresh, the vegan feta was great, the lentils offered the perfect plant-based protein and I absolutely loved the pickled shallots and very tasty vinaigrette. This meal is a part of their ‘Green Eating’ line that prioritizes planet-friendly meals, which is super cool.

Middle Eastern Vegan Chili

Honest Review of CookUnity

I had never tried a middle eastern chili before and this one was such a treat! It came with a really delicious cilantro rice and the chili, itself, was a nice mix of black, garbanzo, and kidney beans, along with some veggies and a tahini sauce for added richness.

Sesame-Almond Kelp Noodles with Tofu

Best Vegan Meal Delivery

This was the only meal that I personally didn’t love, but I wanted to provide a fully honest CookUnity review so I made sure to include it here. It wasn’t horrible by any means; I still ate it. But it was a bit too salty for my taste and I found that to overpower the rest of the dish. It had a lot of potential, the sauce just needed to be tweaked a bit.
